Synopsis:

“Queen of the Birds” is a poignant drama inspired by true events. It tells the story of Natalie, an 11-year-old girl who embarks on a perilous journey with her family from Mexico to America in search of a better life. Along the way, she learns about strength, hope, and the protective power of her father’s love.

Natalie

• Description: Natalie’s father. A hardworking man who loves his family deeply and is willing to make great sacrifices to ensure their safety and future.

Juan

• Age: 8

• Description: A spirited boy with big dreams. He befriends Natalie and shows a mix of vulnerability and resilience.

Luis

• Age: 40s

• Ethnicity: Latino

• Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish)

• Description: A compassionate and patient teacher in the makeshift classroom who helps the children learn while they wait.

Dave

• Age: 30s

• Ethnicity: Open

• Language: Spanish

• Description: A man involved in human trafficking, who helps Sofía and Natalie in their journey. He is panicked and desperate, reflecting the dangerous nature of their situation.

• Description: Includes villagers, church members, and other individuals in the makeshift border town. All ages are welcome.
